Blazing Shirts

This is a technique that amazes Top Women because of its speed and accuracy. And admittedly, we are all somewhat the neat-freaks.

If that was too difficult for the less nimble of the teeming masses, go here for accuracy and repeatability.

For the record, Top Women had fun refolding all our lab shirts. Now if only we could get Top Men to abandon the toss and crumple method.

Acrobots

Here is another one of those little interactive diversions (a.k.a. time sinks) for your consideration. Top Men think of these as a brain jelly beans - little bits of fun that don't really do much for you.

Dynamic Architecture

A series of rotating buildings based on Dynamic Architecture will be built around the world, starting in Dubai, U.A.E. The Dynamic Architecture concept was introduced by Florentine architect David Fisher. (Live Science)

Top Women want homes in one of those buildings, so we're stocking up on Dramamine and working out on the treadmill in preparation of chasing down our apartments once we've been delivered to our floors!

Flickrvision

Top Men always enjoy a good internet technology mash-up. Flickrvision merges Flickr photos with Google Maps locations in an interesting, if slightly voyeuristic, view of the world. Enjoy the slide show of random, up-to-the-minute Flickr photos from around the globe. Make sure you use the full-screen mode.

(Note: No guarantees on the appropriateness of the photos given the random nature of their selection.)

Women in Art

Time for another soothing art-break as most of us melt in the peak summer heat. So put away the methane rocket engine, and sit back with a yummy supercooled Italian Ice.

Span the ages of world renowned art in this video.

Top Women love the portrait art represented in this montage of girls (of the time) and how the expressions and facial features were matched to move and flow seamlessly throughout the video.

A Mess o' Tesla

Ah, the soothing sound of lightning on a warm summer night in Oklahoma.

Top Men have to wonder if the guy in this video told his wife he was just building a barbecue in the backyard.

Ride the lightning - Tesla style.

Sodium Acetate

Talk about versatile! Sodium acetate is not only used in those convenient hand warmers, it's also the chemical that gives salt and vinegar chips their distinctive flavor.

Oh, and this video shows some amazing stuff you can do when you supercool it (to room temperature.)

Cloud Light, Cloud Bright...

First cloud I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might
Understand this iridescent sight!

A NASA satellite has captured this photo of the first occurrence this summer of mysterious shiny polar clouds that form 50 miles above Earth’s surface.

This image shows one of the first ground sightings of noctilucent clouds in the 2007 season. (Credit: Veres Viktor of Budapest, Hungary; taken on June 15, 2007.)

Here is another viewpoint - 36,000 feet above Alaska. (Credit: John Boardman; taken June 20, 2006.)
